Wine is my second attempt at making a Templar, my first getting no further then level 8. Her predecessor was named Audacious a name that came to me on a whim.
I made Audacious rather quickly because I mostly just wanted to reserve the name. I chose a hairstyle somewhat at random but discovered that I really liked how it looked. Though I didn't play Audacious for awhile, I looked forward to it. I liked how she looked on my character selection screen.
A friend of mine who played Templar had told me that it was important that they keep their gear up to date, and I remembered reading somewhere that grinding was the way to get good gear. Therefore, when I started to play Audacious I decided to try to focus more on killing rather than questing.
I looked up on aionarmory.com what dropped off low level mobs and tried to focus on killing the ones that supposedly dropped the gear I wanted. This quickly grew frustrating though as the gear just didn't seem to want to drop. I've since been told that drops are more related to a certain area rather than specific mobs.
I didn't give up on her yet though, I stopped focusing on specific mobs and started just killing everything I saw, as well as doing quests. I got a shield, but that was pretty much it. It was discouraging.
I gave up on Audacious for awhile, but I finally started wanting to play Templar. I gave Audacious a good hard look though, and asked myself if I really wanted her to be my Templar. While I loved her hair and stance, I realized that her face looked too young, and I hated that I'd given her a tiara tattoo.
I thought about just pushing onward, since I'm fairly certain you can change features later, although at a cost, but decided since she was only level 8, it would probably be in my best interest to just start over.
Thus, Wine was born. She had the same style hair as Audacious, but I made it a bit redder. Her face looks less childish, and has no decorations. Deciding on a name was difficult as most of what I came up with was taken. I decided I wanted her name to go with her red hair, and after trying a few different things, and looking up variations with a Thesaurus, I decided on Wine.
Having learned from my mistakes with Audacious I decided on a slightly different plan for leveling Wine. Since farming specific mobs wasn't working, I decided to just forgo doing any quests with the exception of Campaign quests. While I anticipate that will eventually get tedious, until the day that I start to dread playing Wine because of it, that will be my plan.
